Who We Are

River Research Centre (RRC) is a non-profit Public Charitable and Scientific Trust dedicated to the study, conservation, and management of rivers and their ecosystems. Established in 2006 and rooted in activities that began in 2002, RRC brings together a diverse group of nine committed members who share a common vision of promoting sustainable river basin management through collaborative efforts.

Our Vision

We view the river basin as the fundamental geographic, cultural, social, and ecological unit for sustainable development. The challenges we face today—water scarcity, inequitable resource sharing, and conflicts over natural resource use—often arise from a lack of holistic understanding of river basin dynamics. Our vision is to foster a participatory approach to river basin management that empowers communities and enhances ecological integrity.

Our Mission

Our History

Founded on the belief that rivers are vital to our ecosystems and communities, RRC began its journey in 2002 with grassroots initiatives aimed at understanding and addressing river-related issues. After formal registration as a Trust in 2006, RRC has expanded its scope and impact, engaging with local communities, governments, and educational institutions to promote effective river management.
