Ozhukanam Puzhakal

A two-months long statewide campaign “Ozhukanam Puzhakal” was organized from January to March 2019 in memory of our founder Director and mentor Dr Latha Anantha to sensitize people on the urgent need for our rivers to regain its flows. River exhibitions, river walks and river side music nights, clean up events, interactions, film screenings, painting and poster competitions were held at colleges and schools across the State with undying support from local groups. The campaign was inaugurated by the famous Malayalam poet V Madhusoodanan Nair at Pala Alphonsa college followed by a student parliament on river conservation and a poster exhibition.

After conducting so many events statewide the campaign came to an end at Eloor which is an industrial area where people's struggles are going on for so many years against polluting Periyar river, the largest river in Kerala.
